Soulja Boy Says He's Suing Twitch In Bizarre Rant

The rapper claims that Twitch have given no explanation for his ban, which is in place for the sixth day in a row.

Oh, Soulja Boy. The American rapper has quite a turbulent relationship with the games industry, to put it lightly. As well as streaming on Twitch, back in 2018 he released his first console and handheld game system, (if you can really call them that, as they were basically just unbranded emulators). Since then, he’s gone on to claim that he himself is the reason Twitch is so popular, and has released even more dubious consoles onto the market. Oh, and he’s claimed he’s the new owner of Atari. Go big or go home, right?

Despite all that, it’s undeniable that Soulja Boy is currently one of the most entertaining streamers on Twitch. Or at least, he would be, if he wasn’t banned. On December 10, the rapper was banned, and then unbanned from the platform within the span of five minutes. Then banned again four hours later, not to be seen since.

So, he’s now taking the most logical course of action, and is threatening to sue Twitch, claiming that they haven’t given him a reason for why he was banned in the first place: “I can’t believe Twitch can just ban you without any proof or explanation,” the rapper wrote on Twitter. “This doesn’t feel right. I gotta sue these people.”

Continuing the posts, he asked who the CEO of Twitch was, before going on to speculate whether racism could have been a factor in his ban. Of course, this isn’t the first time that the platform has been accused of racism - earlier this year, there were widespread boycotts of Twitch after a number of black streamers faced an onslaught of racist attacks by bots, which the platform seemed to do very little about.

It’s unclear whether Soulja Boy will actually go through with his plans, but as of now, the rapper remains banned on the platform for the sixth day in a row. Fingers crossed he’ll be back on our screens soon - the less time he has to unleash more new games consoles on the market, the better.
