Disneyland is a hugely fun place whether you’re an adult or a kid, especially now that the Disney Parks have expanded their Marvel and Star Wars offerings.

One such offering is Avengers Campus located in Disney’s California theme park. Throughout the day, there’s a short stunt show involving a robotic Spider-Man. Typically, the robot swings from one building, flips in the air, before landing out of sight on a nice comfy crash pad. It’s pretty impressive … when it works. Just this week, Spider-Man had an unfortunate tumble though.

Rise of the Resistance is one of Disneyland’s best rides if you’re a fan of Star Wars. Check out the on-ride footage below.

Just a few days ago, a clip went viral after the Spider-Man robot appeared to malfunction midair sending it crashing into a nearby building, much to the shock and horror of the spectating crowd. Take a look at the clip below, captured by Instagram user mdglee_szm.

When I first saw this clip, my thoughts immediately drifted to the kids in the theme park who probably think they’ve just seen their favourite superhero die. Thankfully, Disney appears to have prepared for such malfunctions as Peter Parker’s voice boomed across the park declaring, “Karen, air bags please.”

The wall Spider-Man fell into broke pretty easily. I’m not exactly sure if that’s just because robotic Peter Parker hit it with such force or if Disney made it more retractable in case of this very eventuality but hey, who cares? Since the unfortunate altercation, repairs appear to have been made and I’m sure Spider-Man’s back up to his usual web-slinging form.
