Spider-Man fans want Stranger Things' Caleb McLaughlin to play live-action Miles Morales

Spider-Man fans want Stranger Things' Caleb McLaughlin to play Miles Morales in a live-action film.

It’s finally here. Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse is out now in cinemas across the globe, and you’re not going to want to miss Miles Morales’ latest adventure if the reviews are anything to go by.

Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse has an incredible critics score of 96% over on Rotten Tomatoes, with an audience score of 97%. It doesn’t get much better than that. We actually had the opportunity to chat to Jake Johnson about his involvement in the film, plus producer Amy Pascal who spoke about the limitless experience of crafting the story which gathers a bunch of Spider-People in one place. Recently, Pascal also opened up about the fact that a Spider-Woman film is in the works, alongside a live-action Miles Morales flick. When it comes to the latter, fans already know who they’d like to portray Miles: Stranger Things’ Caleb McLaughlin.

Take a look at the trailer for Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse below.

That’s right. A live-action Miles Morales film is in the works and fans are convinced that Caleb McLaughlin would be the perfect person to bring the character to life. The actor is best known for portraying Lucas Sinclair in Netflix’s Stranger Things. Fans let their feelings be known over on Twitter.

As reported by our friends over at UNILAD, one user wrote, “Caleb McLaughlin is clearly the easiest choice Hollywood can ever make for Miles Morales,” while another added, “I can see Caleb McLaughlin as Miles.” Even Stranger Things’ writers joined in, saying, “May we suggest,” which was followed by a picture of Caleb.

Caleb has responded to the casting idea before in an interview with GQ, particularly touching on the fact that he doesn’t share Miles’ Hispanic heritage. “I would love to play Miles Morales, but he doesn’t have to lose his Hispanic heritage. I respect that, 100%. And also don’t forget that he’s Black too. He’s African-American.” We’ll have to wait and see who is officially cast.
