'Spider-Man: No Way Home' Sails Past 'Titantic' At The Box Office

Despite releasing slap-bang in the middle of a rise in COVID cases around the world, Spider-Man: No Way Home has managed to bring in some pretty staggering numbers at the box office.

Fans everywhere have masked up and braved their local cinemas to see the highly antipcated Spider-Man sequel in their millions over the last few weeks.

In its first few days alone, Spider-Man's multiverse adventure had shattered records to have the third-biggest US opening ever. With $253 million raked in at the US box office in its first three days, it stands just behind Avengers: Infinity War ($257.6 million) and Endgame ($357). No doubt No Way Home would've done even more had it released at a time where people felt safer going to the cinema, but what it has managed isn't to be sniffed at.

And it's far from finished! Over the last couple of weeks, No Way Home has been slowly climbing up the box office rankings, overtaking some of the biggest movies ever to have graced theatres. Deadline reports that the movie's current US takings stand at an eye-watering $668 million, which has seen it officially sail past James Cameron's 1998 Titantic ($659.3 million).

With No Way Home continuing to go strong, many predict it's only a matter of time before the movie overtakes Infinity War. There's little chance it'll be able to stand up to Endgame, of course, but what can?

No doubt Marvel and Sony are pretty happy they managed to come to an agreement and keep Spider-Man in the MCU for the time-being. Here's hoping the partnership is able to continue for years to come - especially since I've had some thoughts about where Spider-Man 4 should take Holland's version of the hero next.
