'Ahsoka' Show Casts Sabine Wren And Fans Are Stunned At The Similarity

March can't roll round soon enough.

Ahsoka, the upcoming Star Wars show focusing on the titular character from The Clone Wars and The Mandalorian, has casted Sabine Wren and fans cannot believe how spot-on this choice is.

Rosario Dawson said that she was overjoyed at the prospect of playing the fan-favourite character in The Mandalorian and had to keep a handle on her excitement. “[Disney] were asking, ‘Do you want to do this? I mean, we appreciate if it’s not something you want to do.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, no, no, that would be cool, actually. I think we could maybe work this out.’ Trying to play it cool, but I was sweating,” she joked in an interview with Vanity Fair.

Indeed, it was an amazing moment to see Ahsoka Tano appear in The Mandalorian. She encounters the dynamic duo towards the end of the second season of the show to communicate with Grogu and tell Din Djarin to take him to the Jedi Temple to find a master to train him. However, Ahsoka clearly has her own objective — she is tracking the whereabouts of Grand Admiral Thrawn.

The Ahsoka show will pick up a number of story threads to pull them all together in a "climactic story event.” Your guess is as good as mine, honestly, but we are following the details that Disney is happy to dole out. For example, Hayden Christensen has been confirmed to return to his role as Anakin Skywalker and now Natasha Liu Bordizzo has been cast as Sabine Wren.

At the end of Rebels, Ahsoka and Wren set off to find Ezra Bridger and Grand Admiral Thrawn who had been lost after the Purrgil disappeared into hyperspace. Wren herself is a Mandalorian rebel who was a former Imperial Academy cadet who turned coat when she witnessed the subjugation of her home planet.

Bordizzo snagged her debut in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny, then accumulated roles in The Society, Crazy About You, The Voyeurs, Detective Chinatown 2, Guns Akimbo Hotel Mumbai. Heartwarmingly, the response to her casting from Star Wars fans has been nothing but positivity.

“It's actually kind of shocking how closely she resembles Sabine,” said one. “This stands to be some fantastic casting.” Another added side-by-side comparisons of Bordizzo and Wren, and it really is something. It is imagined that Ahsoka will start production in March, so once we hear more, you’ll be the first to know.
