Some Star Wars Fans Genuinely Believe Outlandish Plo Koon Theory

Star Wars fans are convinced that Plo Koon survived Order 66 despite his grisly death.

Star Wars fans are brimming with cool theories. Just this week, fans figured out how to make Mara Jade canon again, and remember that mysterious bacta tank in the Star Wars Jedi: Survivor trailer? Fans think Starkiller could be inside and honestly, they’ve left me convinced. That being said, there’s also a few theories that are borderline absurd - including this one about Plo Koon.

Speaking of, check out the Star Wars Jedi: Survivor trailer below.

Plo Koon’s death scene in Episode III - Revenge of the Sith seemed to leave little up for debate. Seconds after Emperor Palpatine commenced Order 66, Plo Koon’s Starfighter was shot out of the sky by clone troopers. The ship immediately exploded, and so too did Plo Koon with it.

Some fans believe that Plo Koon could’ve survived the attack which seems unlikely but hey, I’ll hear them out. There’s a few theories floating around online, most of them built around the fact that we don’t see Plo Koon’s body but then again, he did combust. In The Rise of Skywalker, several fallen Jedi speak to Rey but Koon is not one of them, perhaps because he isn’t dead. Some have theorised he could’ve survived the ship’s crash by creating a force shield.

Darth Maul survived being chopped in half and Anakin survived a lava dunk so stranger things have happened. Lucasfilm executive creative director Dave Filoni isn’t shy about the fact that he’s a Plo Koon fan and would love to see the character return. The character has strong ties to Ahsoka so perhaps Filoni will get his wish, seeing as he’s developing and producing the upcoming Ahsoka series.

Fans debated Plo Koon’s fate on Reddit. Belcuesus wrote, “No chance to survive that. I would hate to cheapen what we got for some watered down excuse for his survival,” whilst Dominicb95 argued, “You can clearly see in the last frame that he’s creating a force field.” Hm, I’m split on this one.
