Star Wars Jedi: Survivor boss permanently steals your XP in unfortunate bug

An unfortunate bug in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is stealing the player's XP, adding to a long list of issues plaguing EA's latest game.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor launched last Friday and whilst we thought in our review that the game itself was great, it’s been unfortunately plagued by performance issues and glitches, one of which is stealing player’s XP.

Reddit user slaymaker1907 shared a helpful post warning other players of their experience playing EA’s latest Star Wars game, specifically about a troll enemy that stole all of their XP after killing them.

Check out our review of Star Wars: Jedi Survivor below.

If you’re unaware, Jedi: Survivor is similar to FromSoftware’s games, such as the Dark Souls series, in the sense that the player carries around XP accumulated from slaying enemies, and will lose that XP upon dying. However, if players can return to the sight of their defeat, avoiding another death before getting there, they can collect their XP from a glowing spot on the floor.

For some reason or another, this particular troll enemy seems to be ignoring this rule, as XP seems to completely disappear after it has killed you, something it can do very easily according to the majority of players who’ve fought it. This is a very frustrating bug, as XP is essential in making Cal Kestis a stronger Jedi, meaning losing a large amount to a glitch can feel really unfair.

Other users affected by the glitch voiced their disappointment, with one saying: “Was three quarters full on my XP. The 'player death' marker says it is 3M below me or something. This bug is annoying.” Another added, “After hitting this problem twice in the past hour, I was ready to put the game on the back burner until some patches, but I feel a little better seeing so many other people running into it as well. I'd really like to stick it out until I unlock all the stances, at least.”

Unfortunately, bugs and glitches like this one are plentiful in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, with EA already announcing that several patches will be on the way to fix the performance issues across all platforms. It’s a shame, because beneath the technical issues and patches bigger than full-size games, it’s one of the best games to release this year so far.
