Stardew Valley and Hogwarts Legacy collide in free download

Stardew Valley and Hogwarts Legacy collide in free download

Fae Farm is the perfect combination of Stardew Valley and Hogwarts Legacy - a must-play cosy delight.

Fae Farm was easily one of my favourite titles of 2023. If you step away from the heavy hitters like Baldur’s Gate 3 and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, there’s a lot of fun to be had in this delightful farming sim, made complete with a magical twist.

If you enjoy the spellcasting of Hogwarts Legacy and the cottagecore aesthetic of Stardew Valley, you will most certainly enjoy Fae Farm. In the game, you’ll find yourself washed ashore in the land of Azoria following a storm. You soon discover that whirlpools previously cut off Azoria from the rest of the world. The townsfolk are thrilled to finally welcome a newcomer in, setting you up with your own farmstead. From here, you can explore, farm, make friends, and get to the bottom of what’s causing those mysterious whirlpools.

Take a look at Fae Farm in action below.

In our review, we rated Fae Farm an eight out of 10, writing, “Fae Farm is a game that I can see a very bright future for - one that is full of undeniable longevity and promise. In fact, I’m already curious to see what adventure my character might be taken on next. Despite having already sunk many hours into Fae Farm, I know with certainty that I’m not going to stop improving my new little home anytime soon. Fae Farm is the gaming equivalent of cosying up with a blanket and a warm cup of tea - albeit a cup of tea that, on occasion, may leave a mildly unpleasant taste. There are improvements to be made but it’s a game that’s comforting, entertaining, and oh so very easy to get lost in.”

Since then, Fae Farm has added the Coasts of Croakia DLC, hugely expanding the game. While Fae Farm isn’t a free game, you can sample a segment of it for free thanks to a demo available on the Nintendo eShop. This demo was previously also available on Steam but that doesn’t appear to be live right now. It’s worth keeping an eye out to see if this returns.

If you do already own the game, the Coasts of Croakia DLC is totally free so make sure that your copy of the game is up to date.
