While the gaming world goes crazy over a creature collector that isn’t Pokemon, you can look to the future for another game of this type, but this one looks like its also been inspired by Stardew Valley.
Chronomon is, according to its developer, a “Monster Taming Farm SIM that blends the two genres for an exciting new experience!” It’s clear where the inspirations come from, but that’s no bad thing. It’s a gorgeous pixel adventure that will surely appeal to leagues of players. The really interesting thing here is that the game interacts with smartwatches.
If you're going to be inspired by a farming sim, aim for the best
The development team, Stone Golem Studios is “first and foremost” a smartwatch gaming company. This means that your progress will be shared across all of your devices allowing you to pick up a play at any point. This is quite the promise, but if they can pull it off, it’ll certainly be one of the first of its kind.

Away from the technology, you’ll have a “robust Time system” that takes the world through the various stages of a day changing everything around you. This means that NPCs have schedules they uphold and things get more dangerous when the sun sets.
Surrounding the story is a fully-fledged monster collector, like Pokemon, where you’ll choose your starter and search out different creatures to fight alongside and even evolve them into new critters. Some skills from your monsters will even interact with the surroundings, meaning that fire ability may just set a tree alight.
And of course, what would a cosy game be without some Stardew Valley-style farming? Lots of crops need to be grown, fish will be caught, and tools and weapons will be crafted. It’s all very exciting because cost games are where it's at, plus you throw in some monster taming and you’ve got a surefire hit checking off lots of boxes.
