The new update for Stardew Valley has finally dropped, bringing a variety of new content as well as some anti-cheat warnings.

Stardew Valley fans have been patiently waiting for the new update to drop, which was delayed for a while due it being larger than the creator initially intended for it to be.

Take a look at the trailer for Stardew Valley below.

Fortunately, the wait is now over, so PC users can finally enjoy the new content that’s been added to the game, though one player has uncovered a more sinister addition to the patch notes.

Turns out the game now knows when you’ve been cheating, and will not only call you out on it but also personally punish you in a frankly terrifying cutscene.

An exploit in the game can be used to glitch your character into an area you’re not usually supposed to access, and when the game realises you’ve made your way into an out-of-bounds area you’ll be greeted by Mister Qi.

Mister Qi is a shady looking character with a hat, glasses and coat, who’ll initiate a cutscene beginning with “Well, well, well, look who made it to the summit. Thought you were really clever, didn’t you?”

The cutscene’s background with flickering and glitching further proves you really shouldn’t be there.

Mister Qi then lunges at the player, incapacitating them to which they’ll wake up in hospital with 500 less gold than they did before, which was apparently used for “emergency surgery” to heal your “battered” body.

For a game as chill and relaxed as Stardew Valley this is pretty extreme, but a really cool feature to punish those attempting to get to places they shouldn’t, though I’m sure plenty of players will try to do exactly that now so they can see the cutscene for themselves.
