Starfield's first big update announced, includes some highly requested features

Change. And not the small kind

Bethesda has announced the first real update for Starfield, and it's set to include a number of fixes and changes that fans have been asking for.

Here at GAMINGbible towers we loved Starfield, so much so that we awarded it a rare 10/10. However, many fans feel it's not perfect. There are far too many loading screens, one thing, and space travel isn't quite what anyone hoped it would be.

Take a look at our Starfield review below!

While this first Starfield update is of course only the first of many, it should go some away towards proving that Bethesda doesn't intend to leave everything to the modders.

"First, an enormous thank you to all of you playing Starfield and your support," Bethesda wrote on Twitter. We are absolutely blown away by the response and all you love about the game. We’re also reading all your great feedback on what you’d like to see improved or added to the game.

"This is a game we’ll be supporting for years and years to come, so please keep all the feedback coming! Even if we don’t get to your requests immediately, we’d love to do it in the future, like city maps. Our priority initially is making sure any top blocker bugs or stability issues are addressed, and adding quality-of-life features that many are asking for."

Bethesda confirms the first update will be a "small hotfix" targeted at some of the more pressing issues, After that, we can expect a number of regular updates that will introduce a series of features, including: Brightness and Contrast controls, HDR Calibration Menus, an FOV Slider, Nvidia DLSS Support (PC), 32:9 Ultrawide Monitor Support (PC), and an Eat button for food!

Bethesda adds: "We’re also working closely with Nvidia, AMD, and Intel on driver support, and each update will include new stability and performance improvements."

Finally, the developer assured fans that it's continuing to work on rolling out official mod support for PC and console, noting that it hopes to have it ready next year. A bit of a wait, then, but likely a good excuse to replay Starfield in 2024.
