Starfield is single-handedly convincing gamers to buy an Xbox

Xbox’s next major console exclusive, Starfield, is releasing later this year, and it’s successfully convinced people to buy an Xbox just to play it.

Over the years, Xbox’s rival PlayStation has always had an advantage when it came to exclusive games, with the PS4 and PS5 being no different with critically-acclaimed series like Marvel’s Spider-Man, Horizon: Zero Dawn and Forbidden West, and of course, The Last Of Us.

While PlayStation still has some fundamental exclusives on the way like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Final Fantasy XVI and the rumoured The Last Of Us Part 3, it seems Xbox have turned the tables with Bethesda’s first new IP in years, Starfield.

The Xbox exclusive launches later this year in September, and received a 45 minute showcase that revealed what players can expect to see and do when the game launches. With over 1000 planets to explore, sprawling civilisations, several factions to join and betray, as well as jetpack intercourse, Starfield is shaping up to be one of the biggest Xbox exclusives of all time.

If you want evidence of that, look no further than QuentinTotino’s post on Reddit, which reads “I’m gonna buy an Xbox just for this game. That 45 min presentation sold me. I watched it without realizing it was an exclusive, haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since, so I’m legit gonna buy an Xbox just for this game lol.”

They weren’t alone either, as other users chimed in to share their own excitement for the game, many of which also plan on buying an Xbox just to get their hands on the title.

“I also am buying an Xbox, what version are you buying?”

“I’m selling my ps5, if Bethesda ever releases ES 6 that would be exclusive as well. It’s time to make the switch! I actually purchased the Starfield controller on Amazon today. Looks so bad ass imo.”

“I’ve been regretting getting a Series X over a ps5 for a long time because the exclusive games suck in comparison. After that gameplay presentation I’m f****** pumped and glad I bought the Xbox”

Looks like September is going to be a big month for Xbox fans who are incredibly hyped for Starfield’s release. This is despite the disappointing news that the game will be locked at 30 FPS for Xbox consoles, and a recent statement from Bethesda that says Starfield will have less bugs than any previous title, implying there could still be some technical difficulties at launch…
