Starfield can’t catch a break. Players are unhappy and have been reviewing the game on Steam pushing the overall rating for the game into the ‘Mostly Negative’ rating. This comes hot on the heels of a recent update for the game as players start to believe that the game cannot be saved from itself.
The update did little to fix the ongoing problems the game has been facing. Bethesda may have added options for the photo mode and changed simple things like not losing a Digipick when resetting a lock pick attempt, but it’s simply not enough for players.
Starfield has failed to capture the minds and hearts of many players
“One of the most bland and uninspired experiences I've played from Bethesda. I don't even think modders can fix this one.” This is one recent review of Starfield from Steam and it sums up much of the sentiment towards the game. It’s being described as lifeless, boring, uninspired, clunky, archaic, and lacking any charm.

While Starfield has its fans, it has been damned by many over the months since it launched. Even those players who have racked up over a hundred hours are taking a step back and giving honest, yet brutal, opinions. “more loading screens than gameplay” says one reviewer, while another deems it the “worst Bethesda game ever made.”
It’s hard to imagine that fans of Bethesda will be as eager about the upcoming Elder Scrolls VI after the debacle of Starfield. Many of the negative reviews echo the same sentiment, that they have lost faith in the studio. One such commenter goes on to say “As a AAA game studio, Bethesda needs to grow and evolve, instead I feel they went backward and stuck to their comfort zone. As a result, the industry moved on and they got left behind.” It’s going to take a lot to fix this one.
