'Stray' Publisher Is Raising Money For Homeless Cats

Cats off to these guy

Stray publisher Annapurna Interactive has teamed up with multiple cat-based charities to raise money for IRL homeless cats. I'm not crying, you are.

Odds are you're already well aware of Stray. Released earlier this week after years of hype and viral videos, players take on the role of a stray cat lost in a strange sci-fi city as they attempt to find their way home. It's only fitting, then, that the game should help real-life strays.

Take a look a little bit of Stray in action below!

Annapurna teamed up with Nebraska Humane Society and Cats Protection, encouraging gamers everywhere to donate to be in with a chance to win a code for Stray. While it's important to stress that the draw for the NHS competition has now closed, it's wonderful to see a video game doing some real good. Especially if that good directly helps cats, the greatest lifeforms on the planet.

The good news is that you could still be in with a chance to win a PS4/PS5 code from Cats Protection. The UK-based charity has six copies of the game to give away, and will be announcing the winners on July 22. While this draw is free to enter, Cats Protection asks you donate what you can, and that those who sign up fundraise for "cats and kittens in need" with streams and other events. You can sign up for that and find out more here.

Stray is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC right now. In my very own review of the game for GAMINGbible, I gave it a 9/10, calling it a "stunning, funny, and thoroughly entertaining adventure". You won't want to miss it.
