'Stray' Release Date Reportedly Leaked By PlayStation

There are tons of amazing titles on the way to PlayStation consoles, from the highly anticipated Hogwarts Legacy to God of War: Ragnarök. However, none of these are as adorable as the kitty adventure game, Stray.

This indie gem, which is being developed by BlueTwelve Studio and published by the folks over at Annapurna Interactive, follows the adventures of a fluffy ginger cat with a backpack (this is very important) uncovering mysteries and exploring a decaying cybercity. It looks absolutely stunning, and on the GAMINGbible team alone there’s loads of us (myself included) who are itching to experience it for ourselves. Well, luckily, it seems we don’t have long to wait at all.

Twitter account @PlaystationSize, which frequently highlights behind-the-scenes information from the PlayStation Store, claim that according to the PlayStation database, Stray is currently marked down for a 19 July release date. That’s soon! Very soon, in fact.

As the account themselves point out that there’s a chance that this could be a placeholder date - it does seem slightly odd that the game could be upon us in less than two months, with no official announcement on that in sight. However, late last month, it was spotted that the game had quietly been given a release window of summer 2022, during an official video showcasing some of the indies on the way to PlayStation, so this new specific date would line up with that.

Given that it’s been almost two years since the game’s original announcement, there’s no doubt that people are going to be ready to jump straight into this one - it was previously thought to be releasing in October last year, but, well, obviously that didn’t happen.

If you’ve not been able to get your hands on a PS5 just yet, don’t worry - Stray is also on its way to PS4 and PC (and hopefully, we don’t have long to wait for it).
