Let’s face it, Twitch, both as a platform and some of the streamers on it, hasn’t exactly been getting the best reputation this year. From racism allegations, to viewers sending inappropriate messages, to streamers just generally not saying great things on the platform, it’s not all been sunshine and rainbows. However, it’s not all bad on there either, as one streamer is proving by doing his best to help out the Twitch community and "show some love" this festive season.

Nickmercs, who currently has 6.3 million followers on Twitch, announced on Twitter last night his plans for a huge giveaway which will be taking place this week, to thank his viewers for all their support, and to take care of as many people as possible.

“2021 was amazing and a very successful year for the entire team and I. We’ve hit some big accomplishments, signed some huge deals, and checked off a lot of big goals of mine personally,” Nick said. “You guys are a big reason for all that. Without each and every one of you guys’ support a lot of these things that I’m talking about just wouldn’t be possible.

“Now, I say ‘thank you’ and ‘I appreciate it’ a lot, but after a million of ‘em, it gets a little monotonous I think. So I’d like to put my words into actions, and this is my way of doing that.”

The streamer announced that he has over $300K in prizes, including $8000 PCs, 600 earbuds from Beats, FaZe and Twitch merch and more to give away, as well as two $10K cash giveaways. He claims that all the prizes have come out of pocket, with some help from partners, to make it all possible. “We’re going to do the best we can to show some love to you and yours during the holidays,” he said.

Twitter users have been pouring out their support to thank Nick for his generosity: “Nobody does it like you. Much respect, and much love,” wrote @xGIANTPANDAx. “This man is amazing. Wish everyone the best on this” tweeted @ChillLifeRJB

Nick wrapped up the video saying how much he loves Christmas, and how great of a job his parents did when he was growing up to make the holiday special. He hopes that in doing this huge giveaway, he can help do something of the same for the community.
