Warner Bros. has reportedly delayed Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, the upcoming DC action game from Arkham developer Rocksteady.
The hotly anticipated open-world co-op title was originally announced back in August 2020, with Rocksteady confirming that it will be set in the same universe as its Arkham games. Last we heard, the game was expected to launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC at some point this year.

Unfortunately, it sounds as if fans will have to wait a little - or rather a lot longer - to get their hands on this one. A new report from the ever-reliable Bloomberg claims that Warner Bros. has "quietly" pushed Suicide Squad back to 2023. This according to a number of people who are "familiar" with the game's development.

The report doesn't explain exactly why the game might have been delayed, but it's been speculated that it has something to do with the upcoming release of Gotham Knights, another DC open-world co-op game in which Batman's sidekicks team up to save Gotham.
Gotham Knights is being developed by Warner Bros. Montreal, is set in a different universe, and plays quite differently to Suicide Squad. Even so, it's not much of a stretch to imagine that Warner Bros. doesn't want to release two games with such similar concepts in the same year.
Warner Bros. has yet to officially confirm Suicide Squad's delay, but it is worth noting that a recent tweet from WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar failed to mention the game in a post outlining 2022 releases. Both Gotham Knights and the Harry Potter RPG Hogwarts Legacy look to be on track, at least.
