Teen Selling PlayStation 5 Shot During Presumed Attempted Robbery

Teen Selling PlayStation 5 Shot During Presumed Attempted Robbery

A 19-year-old has been shot after trying to sell his PlayStation 5.

A teenager has been shot after attempting to sell a PlayStation 5. The 19-year-old had gone to meet someone to sell the console on Sunday, it seems, but before the transaction was completed, the teenager was shot. Though not fatal, the teen is now in hospital.

As reported by Fox 26 Houston, a shooting happened on Sunday 28the November in Gros Ventre, Harris Country, Texas. A teenager who is yet to be identified went out to sell his PlayStation 5 when he was shot. The teenager is now in hospital, thankfully he wasn’t killed in the attack, but it is yet to be seen if anyone has been arrested for the crime.

It’s not clear what exactly happened as the original report also pictures the console still at the scene of the crime. It’s out of its box and covered in mud on the ground of a front garden, but looks relatively unscathed - why it’s not with the assailant after they attempted to murder the teenager, we don’t know.

There are still a lot of details to this case that are still coming to light, and when we don’t know if the shooter has been arrested since the incident, I would at least caution people to be more careful when selling their property to online buyers. Meet in very public places, bring a friend, and take any other precautions you can.

Right now the PlayStation 5 is out of stock everywhere, almost constantly. The console has been suffering a shortage of computer chips, and the same shortage has been affecting other tech products on the market right now. Obviously violence isn’t the answer to getting your hands on the console yourself, it’s just awful that a teenager has been hospitalised when trying to sell a unit.
