Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Is Adding Four New Turtles

October's issue of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be introducing four turtles, but it's not currently known if they're friends or foes.

The iconic turtle foursome of Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo are set to get some company very soon, in the form of, you guessed it, yet even more turtles. As reported by ComicBook, October’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic release (#133) will see the debut of four fresh-faced ninja turtles, whose identities are currently unknown.

Take a look at the trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge below.

But where did they come from? As Screen Rant writes, it seems that these new turtles have originated from Mutant Town, which was created when a mutagen bomb was detonated in Manhattan. Thousands of people were transformed into animal/human hybrids, and now face persecution, with many homeless and hungry.

Back in 2019, a female ninja turtle called Jennika was brought into the squad, and is considered to be the Turtles’ sister (thanks, ComicBook), so this isn’t the first time that more shelled companions have been introduced. That said, though, it looks like these four may not be friends - the cover art for this upcoming issue has been revealed, and shows Jennika and Donatello facing off against them. While the art doesn’t give a whole lot away, we can see that they don the exact same weapons as the original foursome, although they’re all wearing matching grey bandanas over their faces in favour of colourful eye-masks.

It’s all a bit of a mystery right now as to what’s going to happen, but fans won’t have too long to wait to find out.
