A New 'Skyrim' RPG Has Been Announced, And It Looks Awesome

A New 'Skyrim' RPG Has Been Announced, And It Looks Awesome

The 10th Anniversary game can be backed right now if you're interested in buying it.

As you may well know, Skyrim is turning ten in just a matter of days. The famed RPG from Bethesda has had a long and fruitful life, decorated with rereleases, mods, and memes. It’s such a classic that we don’t mind Bethesda releasing the game once again as the Skyrim Anniversary Edition on November 11 with additional quests and fishing. However, a new adventure is on the horizon with another Skyrim RPG.

As reported by Game Informer, there is in fact a second Skyrim RPG on the way, in the form of a new board game. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - The Adventure Game is being developed by Modiphius Entertainment as a tabletop game for you and some lucky mates to enjoy. It apparently contains a whole 12 hours of content along the main path but there are a bunch of story choices, roleplaying, and more which makes it highly replayable in new styles and outcomes.

Here is the trailer for Skyrim - The Adventure Game...

However, the game isn’t exactly out yet. It has been put on Gamefound which is a crowdfunding site for board games. The original goal of £100,000 has been smashed already and at the time of writing has hit £479,499, and it’s still rising.

The premise of the story is this: “Before the Dragonborn came to Skyrim… You are surviving members of the Blades, a legendary group who long protected the Empire of Tamriel! Abandoned by the empire, you must work together to thwart a plot which threatens the whole of Skyrim.”

The game can be played either solo or with a group. Just like the original Skyrim, you’ll get the option to choose your hero, update and upgrade your gear and fight dangerous foes. Perhaps with the board game though there will be fewer glitches - you’d hope so at least.

Depending on what you contribute to the project you can receive different tiers of the game. You can start at the £68.00 Base Edition and then there are various expansions, upgrades and figures that can take you up to the £220.00 Deluxe Tier. These are discounted prices, however, and once these games are available to buy generally, they will be significantly more expensive. So check out the page while you can and grab the goodies you like.
