It’s been two weeks now since The Batman released in cinemas, and it’s safe to say that most people have really enjoyed it, actually. Imagine that, fans actually liking something from the franchise they claim to love! What a concept.
But yeah, audiences and critics alike have been loving it, and that’s definitely shown when it comes to its box office revenue. Worldwide, the movie has brought in $505.8 million - that’s $258.3 million in the US domestic box office, and $247 million internationally. For reference, as reported by ComicBook, Joker managed to bring in a total just over $335 million in the domestic box office, so The Batman is definitely on track to surpass that.

Of course, with how popular the movie is proving to be, fans are already asking about sequels, and also whether or not we might see Robin make an appearance when we inevitably do get a follow-up. The director, Matt Reeves, gave a pretty interesting response when asked if Batman’s sidekick would even fit into his grittier Gotham.
“Maybe. We'll just say maybe. I don't know, I don’t know. Here's the thing, I have a lot of ideas about what I want to do. I'm not sure what the next story is,” he said, speaking on the Happy Sad Confused podcast. “For me, whatever that story's going to be, it's going to be to taking these characters - and specifically Batman's character - and put them in some kind of emotional jeopardy. So when you talk about what you're talking about, there may be a really interesting story. There'd have to be emotional stakes so that you get drawn into that character's story.”
As of now, there’s not actually been a sequel confirmed, but it’s surely only a matter of time - Robert Pattinson’s rendition of the Dark Knight seems to be quickly evolving into a fan favourite.
