Season three of The Boys was certainly jam-packed full of entertaining-yet-equally-disturbing moments. From its superhero orgy episode to Termite’s Ant-Man inspired scene, there was plenty to mentally digest.
Back in 2020, you may recall that a spin-off of The Boys was announced with the working title The Boys Presents: Varsity. Since then, news on the spin-off has been scarce but knowing full well that the end of season three has left us with a The Boys shaped hole in our lives, Prime Video have officially announced Gen V.

Gen V is currently partway through filming and is set to wrap later this year, so it’s likely that we’ll see a 2023 release. The show will centre around the G-Men who were first referenced back in The Boys’ first season. The G-Men are essentially a parody of the X-Men and these young superheroes all attend the Godolkin University School of Crimefighting, run by Vought International.

The cast gathered on Twitter to share the show’s new title with actor Chance Perdomo noting, “It’s f**ked up. You’re gonna like it.” Sounds perfect for The Boys fans then. The Boys’ showrunner Eric Kripke previously teased the spin-off's crossover potential. He told Deadline, “There’s definitely crossover, and we’re doing our best to design a universe that sees some of the issues and storylines in season three hand off to the first season in Varsity [now titled Gen V].”
The official synopsis teases, “Gen V is an irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities. It’s part college show, part Hunger Games—with all the heart, satire, and raunch of The Boys.” I don’t know about you, but I’m sold.
