Open-World Survival Horror 'Sons Of The Forest' Looks Truly Grotesque

We're already terrified to see what these woods hold.

Survival games are already pretty stressful. You have to work to look after yourself from food, water and warmth all the way to keeping your blades sharp and your hunter senses sharper. Far too much like real life if you ask me. However, horror survival games are an entirely different breed of anxiety-inducing experiences. And if that’s your sort of thing then you might want to check out the upcoming title Sons of the Forest

The Forest came out back in 2014 and has gained a following that loves the experience of fighting to survive against cannibalistic mutants and other horrors out for your blood. You land on an island as a survivor of a jet crash and must keep yourself, and maybe your mates, safe on this perilous adventure. Sons of the Forest is the sequel and aims to build on this success.

We see monsters, murder, and mud in this trailer. It looks like we’re going to be really put to the test - trying to spot a pale humanoid hidden in the forest ready to eat you is already going to be a pain, I can tell. Also, I didn’t know killing a turtle would look so gross.

The description of the trailer published by IGN says: “Watch things go from bad to worse in the third trailer for Sons of the Forest, the first-person survival/horror sequel to 2014's terrifying game The Forest. Sons of the Forest will be released on May 20, 2022, for PC.”

So it’s not very long until you’re going to get through this horrible experience for yourself, what joy. The Forest was loved by players, of course, but this game seems to kick everything up a notch. It probably means more crafting, more terrifying enemies, and more violence at every turn. I mean just looking at those horrible muddled zombie clone things is already giving me the creeps. I might sit this adventure out, but you’ll all be able to get in on the action soon.
