Good news, everyone! Futurama is being resurrected... yet again. The beloved sci-fi comedy is returning for 20 brand-new episodes, this time exclusively via the Hulu streaming service.
Original creators David X. Cohen and Matt Groening have signed up to lead us back to the year 3000, as we once again check in on the Planet Express team and their various misadventures.
The majority of the original cast is set to return. Billy West (Fry, Professor Farnsworth, Zoidberg) and Katey Sagal (Leela) are set to return alongside the likes of Tress MacNeille, Maurice LaMarche, Lauren Tom, Phil LaMarr, and David Herman. Unfortunately, there's currently one rather glaring omission.

Variety reports that John DiMaggio, who voiced the not-so-friendly robot Bender Bending Rodríguez (as well as a ton of other, smaller parts) is not currently attached. While producers are "hopeful" that the actor will sign on for the new series, it's already been confirmed that the role will be recast if he's not on board.
Given that Futurama's last ending was as perfect a finale as anyone could have hoped for, I'm not sure fans are so desperate to see it come back that they'd be happy with it moving forward without one of its most beloved voices. But maybe that's just me?
The Futurama revival is expected to arrive in 2023. Creator Matt Groening said that it's a “true honor to announce the triumphant return of Futurama one more time before we get canceled abruptly again.”
Futurama originally ran between 1999 to 2003 before being taken off the air. The show then came back a few years later for a run of direct-to-DVD specials, and then for a final time in 2010 for a run of episodes on Comedy Central.
