The Last Of Us Part 1 gets HBO-inspired DLC

The latest update for The Last of Us Part I on PS5 has added some new HBO-inspired shirts for Ellie to wear.

Roll up, roll up. If watching The Last of Us’ HBO series got you feeling the itch to play through The Last of Us Part I again, now’s the perfect time to do so.

Admittedly, some people might have already jumped back into Part I when it arrived on PC last month, although you have my sincerest apologies if so. In case you were unaware, the PC port was riddled with bugs and glitches when it first released - although multiple patches have since been rolled out to fix most of these issues, we’ll never forget the horrors of glitchy Joel and his blocky facial hair.

Take a look at the trailer for The Last of Us Part I on PC below.

Now though, it’s the PS5 version of the game that’s received a new update, alongside some free HBO-inspired DLC. As Push Square reports, as revealed in the latest patch notes (which you can read in full on Naughty Dog’s support website), in addition to a bunch of bug fixes, players can now unlock “new HBO in-game t-shirt cosmetics for Ellie”.

Although a list of cosmetics wasn't included in the patch notes, fan account Naughty Dog Central has tweeted that the new additions include shirts inspired by The Wire, Deadwood, The Leftovers, Mortal Kombat II, The Sopranos and Game of Thrones. That’s a pretty nice selection.

Back when the PC port first released, it was announced that those who buy the game on the Epic Games Store can grab two exclusive shirts - one inspired by the Alan Wake series, and one with the Unreal Engine logo on it.

Admittedly, even though all of these extra cosmetics are nice, they’re not the most exciting additions in the world when the possibilities for story DLC are pretty much endless. Give us some backstory for Ellie’s mum please, Naughty Dog.
