'The Last Of Us' Remake May Be Coming Way Sooner Than Expected

It’s been almost two years since Naughty Dog released The Last of Us Part II. Some call it controversial. I call it art *chef’s kiss* but regardless, we’re all waiting on news of what the studio has lined up next.

It’s unlikely that we’ll be leaving the post-apocalyptic world of The Last of Us anytime soon. For months now, rumours have been pointing towards the release of a Factions-inspired multiplayer game and a new-gen remake of 2013’s The Last of Us. Well, the latter could be coming much sooner than we think.

We think that The Last of Us features one of the best gaming opening sequences of all time. Take a look at our other favourites below.

Animator Robert Morrison recently took to Twitter to tease that Sony has “some bangers coming out this year” including an unannounced game. Morrison currently works for PlayStation Studios Visual Arts who are rumoured to be working on the remake of The Last of Us which is very exciting my friends.

Having previously worked on God of War, Morrison confirmed that he wasn’t referencing God of War: Ragnarok but instead, “something equally cool”. He also tweeted, “That feeling when you have 3-5 years of work you can’t show,” which aligns with previous rumours that suggested that work on a remake of The Last of Us began back in 2018. On top of that, Morrison later toyed with us by tweeting that he was currently replaying The Last of Us Part II which he deemed a “gem”.

Based on just how prevalent and extensive rumours of a The Last of Us remake have been, it’s hard at this point not to get excited and take them for fact, but as with all rumours, they must be taken with a pinch of salt. To all of you wondering why The Last of Us needs a remake, well admittedly it doesn’t but I for one will be first in line to put myself through the emotional devastation all over again - but this time, with new-gen graphics. Why not?
