There’s little doubt that The Mandalorian is one of the most popular Lucasfilm and Disney properties in recent memory, and with two very well received series’ already tucked away, we finally have word on the third chapter in the adventures of Din Djarin and Grogu. This is the way.

Speculation as to when we might be seeing season three popping up on Disney+ has been rife, with many expecting the show to air some time this year. It’s been over two years since season two wrapped so a timeframe of late 2022/ early 2023 wasn’t completely out of the question. Well, now we have it confirmed that it’ll be coming to the streaming platform in February 2023. How about that.

Of course, The Book Of Boba Fett helped fill in some of the timeline for Djarin and Baby Yoda, which saw them blasting off on some new adventure in the Mandalorian’s new starship - a souped-up and converted Naboo Starfighter.

Pedro Pascal is set to return as the titular character, with Giancarlo Esposito also reprising his role as Moff Gideon, who escaped execution at the climax of season two, though was packed off to the New Republic for questioning. Esposito even said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that he has “a feeling you'll see more of me next season. More than likely you're going to see a lot of Moff Gideon.”

Carl Weathers is also set to return as Greef Karga, as well as Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan, while Christopher Lloyd (yes, that Christopher Lloyd - Doc Brown in the Back To The Future series) is also set to star in a mystery role. Very intriguing.

It’s still not confirmed whether we’ll see Boba Fett or Ahsoka Tano in the series popping up in cameo roles. Din Djarin and Tano appeared in The Book Of Boba Fett with the latter having her own series coming to Disney+ very soon. But who knows? Mando has made a lot of friends in the galaxy far, far away. But he’s also made a lot of enemies so I wouldn’t count anything out just yet.
