'The Skywalker Saga' Is Set To Become The Most Successful LEGO Game Ever

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is off to a great start, topping the UK's boxed game charts, and earning the best LEGO game launch yet.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has rocketed off (hah) to a stellar start. After quite a wait since its 2019 announcement (and a radio silence on the game until January this year), it’s been going down super well with fans. GAMINGbible’s Tom said that it “feels like the culmination of the decades of work developers TT Games have put into the LEGO Star Wars franchise”, and that “every aspect is built with passion and love for both the story and the studs.”

As you’d expect then, that positive critic and audience praise is also translating directly to the game’s sales. As reported by GamesIndustry.biz (with data courtesy of GfK), it's already the UK’s biggest LEGO game launch of all time, even without counting the digital sales.

The Skywalker Saga is full of really neat Easter eggs, including a bunch of unique character interactions - take a look at some of the best ones below.

From its boxed sales alone, The Skywalker Saga’s launch has already outperformed LEGO’s previous champ, 2008’s LEGO Indiana Jones, by 8.4%. It’s also the second fastest-selling boxed game of the year in the UK so far, beating out the behemoth that is Elden Ring, as well as Horizon Forbidden West (only Pokémon Legends: Arceus has done better, so far).

“The current all-time unit sales [number one] is LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, followed at [number two] by LEGO Batman and at [number three] by LEGO Indiana Jones,” said Dorian Bloch, GfK games boss (via GamesIndustry.biz). “Then it’s two Star Wars titles: LEGO Star Wars 2: Original Trilogy at [number four] and [number five] is LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga. All of which have grossed over 1m units in the UK and between £27m to £34m in box revenue.”

At the minute, we don’t have the full sales figures for The Skywalker Saga to see how it fits into those rankings, but its strong start on the UK’s boxed game charts (which, at the end of last week, it was at the top of) definitely implies it’s gonna be up there. And hey, if you’re just starting out in the game yourself, be sure to take a look at some of the handiest cheat codes discovered so far (you can thank us later).
