Gamers have been waiting for The Witcher 3’s new-gen update for some time now. The enhanced version of dear ol’ Geralt’s most recent adventure has faced a number of delays since its initial announcement - it was originally meant to release last year, but got pushed back until the second quarter of this year, and then yet again to the vague window of sometime this year (thanks, VGC).
One insider is now claiming that the Xbox Series X and PS5 versions may actually be releasing this very month, but just in case you can’t wait, content creator Digital Dreams has released a video which will surely fulfil all your HD Geralt needs. As reported by DSOGaming, thanks to the power of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090, we can now feast our eyes on The Witcher 3 in 8K, complete with ray-tracing.

Digital Dreams used over 100 mods in order to achieve these stunning visuals - they also provided a list on Nexus Mods, so anyone with a powerful enough PC can try them out for themselves. Fans of The Witcher have plenty to be hyped for outside of The Witcher 3’s new-gen upgrade, anyway. As well as a whole new trilogy (kicking off with what we’ve been unofficially referring to as The Witcher 4), there’s going to be a further two titles separate to the trilogy. One of these, currently codenamed Canis Majoris, will be developed by an external studio, and the other, known as Project Sirius, is set to offer “multiplayer gameplay on top of a single-player experience including a campaign with quests and a story”, and will be developed by The Molasses Flood with support from CD Projekt Red. Right now, we don’t know exactly when any of these will be released, but rest assured, they’re on their way.
