The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is an absolutely massive game filled with hundreds upon hundreds of hours of things to see and do. But who would ever say no to a little more content?

While CD Projekt RED quietly toils away on the next Witcher game and a new-gen upgrade to The Witcher 3, it's up to the fans to keep the critically acclaimed 2015 RPG updated with new quests and other fun stuff to crack on with.

Fortunately, a brand-new (and completely unofficial) mod has just been released that offers up exactly that: brand-new Witcher action.

As reported by DSO Gaming, a modder by the name of Yudotbm has released an incredibly impressive and thorough new mod for The Witcher 3 that adds new quests, a brand-new explorable area, some absolutely unhinged new enemies and even some new gameplay features. If you're looking to scratch that Witcher itch, this is definitely for you.

The Witcher Alterverse adds three new quests: Wild Orchard, Cursed Vyzima, and The Devil’s Pit. While these obviously aren't as detailed as any of CDPR's official creations, they're interesting little journeys that take the player to some unexpected places. You can check the quests out in action here.

The new gameplay features are arguably what's most impressive about this mod, however. A brand-new Teleport Bolt can be used to reach higher areas, and is something I'm absolutely hoping CDPR borrows for the next Witcher game because it looks like it makes exploration a million times more fun.

Completing one of the new quests will also introduce a brand-new companion character that appears to aid Geralt in combat whenever his health dips below 50%.

Finally, The Witcher Alterverse introduces something called Immersive Knockdown. Essentially, if a guard catches you and knocks you down, you'll wake up in a different location with your clothes removed and head shaved. I'm not really sure I get why this is a thing, but whatever. The rest of it is pretty rad.

You can download the mod from here if you're interested!
