Filmed using the stunning architecture of Uzbekistan as a backdrop, this awesome Assassin's Creed parkour video is a shot of amazing nostalgia for the earlier games in the stealth series.
DevinSuperTramp - the team of filmmakers behind the production - has racked up over a billion views on their YouTube channel and you'll likely recognise their previous Assassin's Creed parkour videos celebrating Assassin's Creed III, Black Flag, Syndicate and Unity. This one is evidently inspired by Assassin's Creed II, and while the choice of location isn't quite correct, we'll let them off the hook because this video is absolutely astonishing.

Played by professional freerunner Calen Chan, Ezio tracks the Pope through the city, taking out any pesky soldiers that happen to be on duty. However, when his target rides away, Ezio's got to get creative. Of course, the incredible stunts that Chan pulls off attract the attention of guards, who are about as effective at stopping him as chubby cats chasing a butterfly. It's an impressive feat to be able to act out these acrobatics in a costume with a cape and many of the moves are just as they were in the original 2009 game. The best bit? When Chan slows to a tiptoe to walk across a plank, spreading his arms out in an exaggerated effort to balance himself. Some of the flips are unnecessary, sure, yet I'd argue that's accurate to a player accidentally pressing the wrong button while in free-running mode in the game.
There are some utterly gorgeous shots here too that knock the official Assassin's Creed movie out of the water, thanks to the high end cameras that DevinSuperTramp have at their disposal. All in all, it's a first-rate tribute to the game that introduced us to one of the most iconic characters in the medium.
Recently, the Assassin's Creed rumour mill has been ticking over with the report that there is a smaller-scale title in development set in Baghdad, Iraq. It was intended to be a Valhalla DLC, according to the sources, but became bigger in order to explore Basim's backstory before he met Eivor in England. Ubisoft responded to the report by saying that it will not comment "on rumours or speculation as they do a disservice to our development teams and community" and that there is a "solid and exciting line-up of titles in our pipeline, both established brands with new story twists and features, and brand new IPs that will continue to change the landscape of today's video games".
