There are some game achievements that are just real pains in the arse to get. Sometimes, it’s because you have to do something very obscure to get them; sometimes it’s because you can get yourself permanently locked out of them; and sometimes it’s just because they’re really hard.
Needless to say, there are already plenty of games that’ll take you a really long time to get 100% completion in, or more specifically, those elusive Platinum trophies. However, indie studio Crows Crows Crows’ latest release will undoubtably take you far, far longer than anything else out there.
Take a look at the official trailer for The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe right here.
The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe is an “expanded re-imagining” of the 2013 release, The Stanley Parable. In case you were unfamiliar, it's a critically acclaimed and award-winning first-person exploration game, which, if you’ve not already played, you no longer have any excuse not to.
Of the numerous achievements you can unlock within the game though, one is particularly special. As reported by PSU, “Super Go Outside” is only awarded when you don’t play the game for 10 years. Yes, really. If we all decide to play fair, no one is going to be able to fully complete the game until 27 April 2032.
If you really wanted to, you could probably beat the system simply by changing your system’s internal clock, but where’s the fun in that? I mean, everyone will know you cheated, for a start. However, if that one missing achievement is really going to bother you for all that time, it’s worth a shot.
Funny achievements aside, as I previously said, you won’t want to miss this release. “When a simple-minded individual named Stanley discovers that the co-workers in his office have mysteriously vanished, he sets off to find answers,” the game’s description reads on Steam. “You will play as Stanley, and you will not play as Stanley. You will make a choice, and you will have your choices taken from you. The game will end, the game will never end. Contradiction follows contradiction, the rules of how games should work are broken, then broken again. You are not here to win. The Stanley Parable is a game that plays you.”
