'Toy Story 2' Is Coming To PlayStation 5 And It Looks Amazing

Buzz Lightyear To The Rescue!

Well, this is something I absolutely didn't see coming: Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear To The Rescue, the surprisingly brilliant 1999 action-platformer, is coming to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4!

An entire generation of gamers fondly remembers this particular movie tie-in as a genuinely great and inventive 3D platformer that combined creatively designed challenges in which a small toy (Buzz) had to navigate a massive world. It was great fun at the time, but has it aged well?

That's something we'll find out together next month, as it looks like Toy Story 2 is officially one of the classic PlayStation games coming to PS5 and PS4 as part of the new PlayStation Plus Premium.

While the brand-new PlayStation Plus tier isn't launching here in the UK until next month, it's already been rolled out in Asia. As such, we already have some idea of which games we can expect when the service arrives for us. It's worth noting that PlayStation has already officially outlined some of the games, but not all of them.

In fact, it looks as if there are plenty more still to be announced if this Asia lineup is anything to go by. As spotted by Redditor NonGetGudPlayer, Toy Story 2 is just one of many classic PlayStation games, joining a raft of other classics that include Ridge Racer 2 and Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee.

The game looks just as lovely as we remember it, too! You can check out some gorgeous footage of it in action below, or via this link.

It's worth noting that the PS Plus Asia lineup may well end up being a little different to what we get, so there's no guarantee that Toy Story 2 will be part of our launch selection. But I'd be genuinely surprised if it didn't make the cut eventually.
