Fallout officially heads to LA in new teaser

Fallout officially heads to LA in new teaser

Grab your shades, we're off to LA!

Fallout’s been to Vegas, and now it’s officially heading to sunny LA!

Before you pack the theoretical sunscreen, this TV adaptation isn’t going to hit screens until 2024, meaning you have plenty of time to prep your apocalypse kit. The teaser for the show, which will be exclusive to Amazon Prime, was dropped at Gamescom 2023 after Bethesda’s Starfield presentation.

Remember the high stakes of Fallout: New Vegas with its launch trailer!

Although we’re sad to say the teaser doesn’t look like it’ll be aired publicly, Bethesda’s Todd Howard promises more sneak peeks are on the way. Bigger ones, even. This is good news, because the cliffnotes coming out of the teaser is that there were some Brotherhood of Steel soldiers, and an unknown woman leaving a vault.

When asked to give just a few more details about the story behind the series’ creation, and what fans can expect from Fallout in LA, Howard said, “ One of the movies which inspired Starfield is the movie Interstellar, written by Jonathan Nolan – he goes by Jonah”. He continued, “I got to know Jonah, and I always wanted to make a Fallout TV show. So, I talked to Jonah about it and we have been making the Fallout TV show that’s coming, and we thought we would give you a sneak peek.”

Not the most eloquent explanation, but we’re excited by these mere morsels of information nonetheless. Not that Fallout has ever really shortchanged us before – since the franchise started in the late 1990s, it’s grown into one of the most popular series out there, with mods still being made for Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 4. One of the most haunting being Whispering Hills, which is an authentic horror experience I wasn’t quite prepared for. Despite the fact most of us are hyper-focused on Starfield right now, none of us can escape the undeniable allure of Fallout and its barren Wastelands.

Even though we are no little beyond its location, Prime’s Fallout TV show sounds like it’s got some strong hallmarks of all the things we love about the franchise. And after other video games to TV show successes like The Last of Us, we’re hopeful that this will be yet another television series to binge. We just have to wait until 2024… no biggie.

The Fallout TV series is said to be coming to Prime in 2024, but if you need a Bethesda fix before then, don’t forget that Starfield is out on 6 September!
