There’s nothing quite like watching a good horror movie or TV series during the Halloween season and it seems that Netflix once more brought us a worthy offering.
The Fall of the House of Usher is directed by Mike Flanagan, who also directed other spooky Netflix programs including The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor, Midnight Mass and The Midnight Club. So you know there is already a high level of expectation with his latest series. What’s more, if you’re familiar with any of the above series’ then you will recognise more than one returning face.

Despite not quite being available to stream yet, The Fall of the House of Usher is already making its mark on Rotten Tomatoes with a very impressive score of 94% from critics. Obviously, as this series isn't available to the public yet, there are no user reviews.
I was only saying to my wife the other day that “the bloke that directed The Haunting of Hill House” needs to make a new series, unbeknownst to me that this new series was merely days away. So I know what we’ll be watching this week!
If you want to watch something else to creep you out this Halloween season, then I can wholeheartedly recommend the new Disney Plus movie No One Will Save You. If you love movies about aliens and UFOs with a heavy dose of quirkiness, then this might be your cup of tea.
The Fall of the House of Usher premieres on Netflix on Thursday 12 October with all eight episodes being available from the get-go.
