Toy Story 5 bringing back Andy, because apparently Toy Story 3 means nothing to Disney

Toy Story 5 bringing back Andy, because apparently Toy Story 3 means nothing to Disney

Why Disney? WHY must you put us through that pain for nothing?

Toy Story is one of Disney’s most beloved franchises and one that has pulled on the heartstrings of fans both young and old.

Before I proceed, I will be going into spoilers for Disney’s Toy Story 3 and 4. So please, consider this to be your spoiler warning. Though to be fair, both films are several years old.

Check out the Toy Story 4 trailer below!

At the conclusion of Toy Story 3, Andy leaves Woody and the gang behind to begin his adult life at college. It really was an emotional end to his story, which at this point, had been 15 years in the making. Then in 2019’s Toy Story 4, Woody seemingly departed from the gang entirely to travel with a carnival to help lost toys find their way.

Toy Story 3 was the perfect way to end Andy and Woody’s arc and begin anew. If there was one bright side to the heart-aching goodbyes, it would be that the pain would never be re-lived again or so we had thought. Apparently, our emotions mean nothing to Disney as it seems Andy is making a return in Toy Story 5.

As spotted by Dexerto, an apparent Disney insider on YouTube, befittingly named ‘The DisInsider’, claims that Andy will return in Toy Story 5 as an adult with his new family. What’s more, it is also claimed that Andy and his new family will play an ‘integral role’ in the upcoming movie. Oh, and allegedly Woody is returning too but that's perhaps to be expected - despite his departure alongside Bo.

Of course, at this time, we don’t know exactly how Andy, his family and Woody will return in Toy Story 5 nor do we know what tale it will tell. Furthermore, it’s also worth keeping in mind that these rumours are unconfirmed, so we should be taking them with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise. That being said, if these rumours are true, I don’t think we’re ready for another emotional goodbye. So please Disney and Pixar, take it easy on us this time. Thank you.

In somewhat related news, the PS1 classic Toy Story 2 is now available on PlayStation 5 and it looks amazing!

As of right now, a release date for Toy Story 5 hasn't been announced by Disney but it might be safe to assume that we’ll be waiting a few more years for its arrival.
