Popular Twitch Streamer Banned From GTA RP Server Following Argument

Popular Twitch Streamer Banned From GTA RP Server Following Argument

“Lord knows I am the worst criminal that’s ever hit Los Santos.”

Twitch streamer Elle “ellegrenn” Grenn has expressed her disappointment for being banned from the NoPixel Grand Theft Auto roleplay server following a dispute with a fellow player.

As one of the most popular places for Grand Theft Auto fans to inhabit the world of Los Santos as a fictional character of their own creation, the NoPixel server attracts players of all stripes. Streamers like Sykunno, Felix “xQc” Lengyel and Nathan “Blaustoise” Blau enjoy enormous audiences that tune in to see what the characters get up to on a given day, much like watching a soap opera (with a lot more bloody violence and explosions.)

However, in order to be a part of the server, players are asked to fill out an application form and, if successful, they must follow the rules. These include “acting salty,” “breaking character,” and being “immature even when someone appears to have broken rules around you,” and any infractions may be punishable with a ban.

Grenn, who roleplays as her own character Sofia Castellano, has unfortunately been banned as a result of an argument with one of NoPixel’s staff. According to Dexerto, Castellano was involved in a conversation with the salesman Robert Locksley. He’s played by Yawger20, who works on the support side of the popular server, and after an argument between the two, Grenn accused Yawger20 of metagaming.

Metagaming is to “use knowledge that is not available to their character in order to change the way they play their character (usually to give them an advantage within the game)” and is unacceptable in the context of the server. You can see Grenn, Yawger20 and HutchMF discuss the conversation that caused her to be banned:

“Yesterday, some of the RP that took place was solely based on meta information that shouldn’t have been out. I was really upset about this as it cut a lot of the RP with the PD completely out, so we tried to RP fix it,” said Grenn in a deleted Tweet about the incident.

“Lord knows I am the worst criminal that’s ever hit Los Santos,” said Grenn in character in the above clip. “That being said I don’t believe I deserve to have my character assassinated to the floor and back based on information I never said.”

“Assumptions are the only thing that can keep you afloat,” argued HutchMF in character as Hutch Hutcherson. “If you don’t assume things, if you don’t get information and act upon the information, even if it’s the smallest amount of information, you get f***ed. That goes for everything.”
