Twitch Removes "NSFW" Hot Tub Emote For Being Too Sexual

Twitch has once again made the strange decision to pull a seemingly harmless emote for being too sexual. Earlier this week, a streamer by the name of Marianne revealed that the Amazon-owned platform pulled one of her emotes - a mushroom in a hot tub - for being "too sexual".

I think the bigger issue here is that someone at Twitch apparently can't look at a mushroom without getting aroused, but whatever.

Before we move on, take a look at the some of the funniest livestream wins and fails below!

Marianne was understandably confused and frustrated by Twitch's decision to pull what is, objectively, a completely inoffensive emote because it contained "imagery of sexual content or nudity". As you can see below, it's a cartoon mushroom bobbing up and down in a little tub. It's cute!

What's even stranger is that a separate emote of the same mushroom sat sans hot tub was approved 20 minutes before the offending emote was pulled. So is the hot tub the problem? Despite the fact that Twitch is still home to hot tub streams, many of which are far riskier and NSFW than our fungal friend here.

"We made this as a lighthearted and cute emote to replace the same emote that Twitch keeps removing. Because of that, all my emotes have to go under manual review now. This got denied for being too sexual," the streamer added on Twitter.

"Twitch has no problem striking stupid s**t down as sexual, but when faced with a** and t**s, they'll start sweating because they have to pretend they're not j***ing off to them every day," one Reddit user hit out.

Marianne added that she's not really sure how to approach fixing this problem. In other words, it's another day in Twitch land.
