Twitch streamer and former adult performer Adriana Chechik has broken her back in two places after jumping into a foam pit at San Diego's TwitchCon on Saturday.
“Well, I broke my back in two places and am getting surgery to put a meter rod in for support today. Send your support,” Chechik wrote on her Twitter account on Sunday after footage of the incident began to circulate online. “When it rains it pours and I am definitely feeling the rain right now.”
Footage of the incident was captured during a livestream before making its way onto Reddit and various other social media platforms. In the video, Chechik can be seen having a foam sword fight with a fellow streamer later confirmed to be EdyBot.

Once EdyBot falls into the pit, Chechik jumps from her podium in celebration before landing in what can only be described as an awful position. It's immediately clear that serious damage has been done, as the streamer attempts to exit the pit before collapsing in pain.
The foam pit was put together by the electronics company Lenovo as part of their “Legion by Lenovo” booth at TwitchCon. While Chechik seems to have come away with the worst injuries, others took to social media to claim they were also unable to escape the pit unscathed.
"Be careful on this thing guys," streamer LochVaness shared on Twitter. "I’m currently at the hospital seeing if I broke anything."

Streamer and YouTube partner Zumms also posted on Twitter that they'd broken their ankle in "all three possible ways".
They added: "It's been an overwhelming 48 hours but I am okay and back at home resting. I want to thank all of those who wished me well and helped me when I was down. I appreciate you all."
Representatives for Lenovo and Twitch have yet to officially respond, although an anonymous volunteer at the Lenovo booth told Buzzfeed, "They have rules [for the foam pit] and they explained the rules.”
