When it comes to streaming on Twitch, there are a number of things that streamers need to look out for. Of course, you’ve got your annoying bot accounts, as well as perhaps some questionable real-life users lurking in chat. But on a more serious level, sometimes, viewers think it’s a good idea to alert the authorities and send the police and SWAT teams to streamers’ addresses over false accusations, which is obviously both terrifying and genuinely dangerous.

Last year, popular Canadian streamer xQc even had to move addresses due to getting constantly raided as a result of being doxxed. Now, as reported by Dexerto, another streamer, HeyItsMeSalty (who’s also a chef), was swatted earlier this week (21 June) midway through a cooking stream, and he handled it in the best way possible.

Before we get into it, be sure to check out some of the funniest livestream wins and fails right here.

The whole thing was caught on camera as the stream kept running, and it was a very scary experience - the police entered the streamer’s home holding guns. You can see part of the situation unfold in the clip below.

After everything was resolved, though, the streamer got back on camera and continued his stream, explaining that he’d even invited the officers back for food later: “They were all really nice. I told them to come back for tacos in an hour and a half,” he said. “Normally I would probably take the rest of the stream off, because I think I might have peed myself just a little bit. But, I am really hungry now.”

He later took to Twitter to explain the situation further: “Heyo friends and family. Due to getting swatted today during my Twitch stream, the rest of the [week’s] schedule is kind of up in the air,” he wrote. “The safety of the kids and my family obviously come before anything in the world and I am sorry for all who had to witness [today’s] events.

“On another note, the stream never stopped the whole time. The cameras kept rolling because nothing was keeping me away from my f**king tacos,” he continued. “Roasted cauliflower, chickpeas and sweet potatoes with homemade tortillas and fire roasted salsa.”

Okay, let’s just take a minute to appreciate that taco - I’m now feeling very hungry myself. You can’t blame him for wanting to get back to his stream if that’s what was cooking. But in all seriousness, it’s a relief that everything turned out okay.
