Plus, its DLC and multiplayer modes. Tidy.

Anno 1404 is available for free for PC players through Ubisoft Connect, and it comes with its DLC, multiplayer mode and a bundle of other content. This is perfect for city-building and real-time strategy fans as well as those wishing to brush up on their history.

Of course, the Anno series is set in an alternate version of our own Earth, with the Occident and Orient zones meant to represent northwestern Renaissance Europe and the medieval Near East respectively. The areas in the Occident offer spices, bread, meat, candlesticks, leather jerkins, and brocade robes to trade whereas the Orient possesses dates, milk, carpets, pearl necklaces and marzipan.

Ubisoft Blue Byte is the developer of the Anno and The Settler series... and Beyond Good And Evil 2, strangely enough. Check out the trailer below!

Ubisoft is giving away the History Edition of Anno 1404, packaging the Venice DLC, co-op and competitive multiplayer modes, new features, ships, quests, and items with the original game. Moreover, this version of the game got a technical boost to run on modern PCs at modern resolutions. Very charitable of it. And, as this is a slightly older game, there's no chance of any sort of silly crypto or NFT integration. The other day, Ubisoft announced its Quartz blockchain venture which will let players play to earn unique collectibles in games like Ghost Recon Breakpoint. Learn more about Quartz here, but to sum up, the company has named its blockchain system after a crystal that has next to no value compared to things like bixbite, or emerald, or opal, or... Take from that what you will.

The giveaway lasts until December 14th at 2.00pm GMT, and the game is currently 50% off on Steam, if you've always taken that idiom about free lunches literally.
