Ever since Ubisoft announced in January last year that it was collaborating with Disney to make another Star Wars game, fans have been tentatively waiting for updates.
It's not like we've been starved for news on upcoming Star Wars projects, though. EA announced there are three Star Wars titles in the works from them. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2, an FPS title from the Titanfall devs, and a strategy game from the XCOM devs. Then, Quantic Dream announced Star Wars Eclipse, which we won't be seeing for another five years. Conversely, the latest LEGO Star Wars game is dropping very shortly.
Yet we're still all greedy to see what else is to come. It doesn't seem to matter how many products are on the horizon, we want to know all we can about each.

The reason we've heard so little from Ubisoft's latest fare is very simple. The studio hasn't actually made much progress on it yet. Last year, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said “The vast Star Wars lore is an incredible source of inspiration for our teams. - This is the beginning of a long-term collaboration with Disney and Lucasfilm Games, and we are pleased to be working hand-in-hand to build upon the incredible legacy of Lucasfilm to create a game that we know Star Wars fans will love.”
Essentially, he said a lot without saying very much. Now, known industry know it all Tom Henderson has given us his latest predictions on the narrative lead release. While giving a rough outline of the around 20 games that Ubisoft currently has in the works, Star Wars was mysteriously missing. However, that was by default. It's not coming until 2025.
So it seems we will have to strap in tight to our Millennium Falcons for a little while longer, we might be in for the long haul.
