An upcoming Xbox exclusive has seemingly been leaked as evidence during the ongoing Microsoft FTC trial.
Microsoft is currently amidst a trial with the FTC over its acquisition of Activision Blizzard, which has forced the company to share secretive documents regarding its future plans and activity. One such document reportedly contains information about an unannounced Xbox-exclusive game, which has been codenamed Project Dragon/Project Fantasy. Not much is known about the title, which was originally shared on Windows Central, apart from it’s currently in development at IO Interactive. IO is the developer of the Hitman series, and is currently working on a James Bond game.
Starfield is the next major Xbox exclusive to launch.
Recent emails published by the FTC have revealed the game is still planned for development, and will reportedly be an exclusive for Xbox and PC. While no release date has been given, it does say the game will be an RPG shooter.
Rumours suggest it’ll take inspiration from other fantasy RPG franchises like Diablo and World Of Warcraft, as well as feature live-service style gameplay. It’s unknown when we’ll be hearing more about the mysterious title, but it seems more than likely that it will be an Xbox exclusive, joining a variety of other titles like Starfield, Avowed and Forza Motorsport.

Xbox is still fighting to see its deal with Activision go through. So far, it’s received significant backlash with many believing the deal will harm competition in the gaming market. This is due to fears Xbox will make popular Activision franchises, mainly Call Of Duty, exclusive to Xbox despite the company repeatedly stating that it won’t happen.
Aside from the FTC trial, the UK CMA has put a 10 year block on the deal, which could lead to Activision titles being pulled from the UK entirely, which experts are warning could be the likely course of action.
Despite the difficulties, Xbox boss Phil Spencer is confident the acquisition deal will go through, and has stated Call Of Duty will be available on PlayStation consoles the same way it will be on Xbox.
In other news, Xbox recently reflected on its competition with PlayStation over the years, and has openly admitted that it lost the console wars.
