Unreal Engine 5 has the power to produce some truly amazing stuff. I’m sure you knew that already, of course - we see mind-blowing fan-made projects produced using the engine all the time, and whether it’s a remake of Silent Hill or the Iron Man game of your dreams, they all have one thing in common - they always look phenomenal.
Obviously, it’s not just fans using Unreal Engine 5 for all that good stuff - a number of big game studios are using it to power their upcoming releases, too, including the new Witcher game (not actually titled The Witcher 4, but that’s what everyone’s been calling it), and the upcoming Tomb Raider title. Now, as reported by IGN, South Korean game developer NCSOFT has unveiled an incredible looking new title, which boasts some impressive near-photorealistic visuals.

The game has been titled Project M, and is not to be confused with that mod for Super Smash Bros. Brawl. In an official press release, the developers described it as an “interactive movie game”, which will feature alternate stories and multiple endings based on choices the player makes. The plot is mostly shrouded in mystery for now, but as you can see in the trailer, it seems to follow a man’s quest for revenge following the death of his partner.

If you look closely, you can spot some of the game’s choice-based elements play out during the trailer - as well as a few decisions which the player can make by selecting different buttons, there’s also a scene which plays out differently depending on the player’s performance in a quick-time event. Gorgeous graphics aside, the whole thing is looking really interesting.
As for the platforms it’s releasing on, all we know so far is that it’s a “console project”. The button prompts we see in the trailer are clearly PlayStation icons, though, so it seems fairly certain that it’ll be coming to PS5 - and it’s definitely one to watch.
