Call Of Duty: Warzone 2's new map is already being torn apart by fans

Do you remember the days when players were full of praise for Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.0? It feels like mere months ago. Oh, it was? How quickly the tide can change.

Modern Warfare II had the most successful Call of Duty launch of all time. Warzone 2.0 then introduced the hugely popular proximity chat - which made for some very memorable moments. Do you remember the guy who tricked other players into turning their consoles off? Imagine falling victim to that. In recent weeks though, players have been left unimpressed by a number of disappointing updates, with some even threatening to boycott the game completely. Pair that with a falling player count and Warzone 2.0 has found itself in a sticky situation. Now, players are tearing apart the game’s latest map.

I say ‘latest map’, it’s not actually out yet and still, players aren’t impressed. As reported by GG Recon, the Las Almas map has leaked online and it’s come under fire for being yet another desert map. Several parts of the map already feature in the Modern Warfare II campaign, including the Santa Sena border and Mercado Las Almas, but this would be the first time the map has appeared in Warzone 2.0.

Popular fan account ModernWarzone posted a picture of the map, asking fans for their thoughts and needless to say, they weren’t overly excited. FRSkyRRoZ wrote, “If it’s another desert map, I will cry. We need more maps like Blackout,” while CryptoKingAxiS added, “Looks like a map I’m not playing.” BrandonB_TV said, “Too big for how little engagement there is with the player count.” User sprysakles wrote, “Another desert map? I want some colour.”

Speaking of that falling player count, 80% of people who took part in a recent poll confessed that they no longer play Warzone 2.0 regularly compared to at launch. Yikes.
