Wife Gives Husband's PS5 Away After Finding Out How He Paid For It

Wife Gives Husband's PS5 Away After Finding Out How He Paid For It

A fitting punishment

A husband who purchased a PlayStation 5 using his wife's money without asking has faced the wrath of his partner.

Over on the classic AITA (Am I The Asshole) subreddit, a 35-year-old woman shared her story in the hopes of finding some support. Needless to say, fellow Reddit users were quick to agree that she was most definitely in the right. Read on, and I'm sure you'll see it the same way.

The brilliantly named pissedwinehead explained that her 37-year-old husband recently purchased a brand-new PlayStation 5 as a "gift for himself". Now, there's nothing wrong with treating yourself every now and again, but it turns out he dipped into his wife's emergency funds to do that.

"I do not believe being able to get your hands on a new video game console classes as [an emergency]," the wife wrote.

A huge argument ensured soon after the husband was called out for effectively stealing from his wife - an argument that ended with the wife being forced to take away the PS5 as if confiscating it from an errant child. Luckily, she found the perfect home for it.

"I debated on returning it to the shop for the money, but I know my sister has been struggling to find one for my 13-year-old Nephew for over a year," she wrote. "So instead, I wrapped it up and took it round to hers and put it under the tree and quietly explained what it was and what had happened, my sister then gave me the money for it."

This did not go down well with the manchild husband, who apparently went "ballistic" and demanded he get it back. When she refused, he stopped talking to her. What a prize this guy is.

"Cut off his access to your money," remarked one user. "There is no emergency so immediate that you couldn't pay it yourself."

"I'm a gamer and would love to get my hands on a PS5 if I could afford it. But no matter how hard you game, PC or console, a game system is never an emergency," added another.

Unsurprisingly, pissedwinehead has since emptied the emergency account that he has access to, and popped her money into her own personal account, including the money she got from her sister for the PS5. Good for her.
