Will Smith Spotted For The First Time Since That Oscar's Slap

The actor was spotted in public for the first time in almost a month after slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars.

Did you think we’d heard the last of the Will Smith Oscar’s slap drama? Hahaha. Think again.

Weeks after the infamous slap took place, the eyes of the world are still on Will Smith. In case you’ve been hidden away on a deserted island retreat (lucky you), Will Smith walked up on stage and slapped presenter Chris Rock at this year’s Academy Awards after Rock made a joke about Jade Pinkett Smith’s shaved head. Needless to say, Will was fuming and told Rock to “Keep my wife’s name out of your f***king mouth.” Yikes.

If you wish to relive the moment, boy do I have a treat for you. Take a look at this unseen angle of the Oscar's altercation below.

Since then, it’s all been a bit of a whirlwind. Will Smith issued an apology a few days after the ceremony and resigned from his membership to the Academy. The Academy then issued its own punishment, banning Smith from attending the Oscars for the next 10 years. On top of that, things recently got worse for the actor after Netflix cancelled a major fan-favourite project.

In this latest development (because buckle up, there’s more), Will Smith has been spotted for the first time since his hand sent shockwaves around the world, so to speak. The actor was spotted in Mumbai, India, on 23 April whilst leaving Kalina airport. Photographer Viral Bhayani captured the footage of the actor smiling and waving to fans.

Jada Pinkett Smith’s infamous talk show Red Table Talk returned this week and a message promised viewers that the family's “healing” would be addressed at a later date. “Until then… the table will continue offering itself to powerful, inspiring and healing testimonies,” the declaration read.

Chris Rock is yet to formally address the incident after previously telling audiences at one of his comedy shows that he would when the time is right. Yeesh. The drama is exhausting.
