World's largest Pokémon collection being auctioned for eye-watering amount

This incredible Pokémon collection includes over 20,000 items, collected over 25 years.

We’re just two months away from the release of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet and I’m sure, like me, you cannot wait to get your hands on the very memeable new Pokémon. I didn’t know that I needed Lechonk and Fidough in my life but now that I’ve met them, there’s no turning back. If you are looking for a daily dose of happiness, may I present to you: Lechonk memes.

If you are a Pokémon fan, chances are you probably have a ton of merch. Maybe there are some Pokémon cards from your childhood stashed in the attic. Somewhere in my house sits a 20 year old Snorlax plush. Where? I don’t know. What many of us wonder is just how much these things are worth. Well, one Pokémon collection is now going on sale for an eye-watering amount.

Take a look at a Pokémon Scarlet & Violet trailer below.

As reported by BBC News, the world’s largest Pokémon memorabilia collection will soon go to auction and could fetch as much as £300,000. The collection belongs to a woman from Hertfordshire who wishes to remain anonymous. The items have been collected over 25 years and there are believed to be over 20,000 items in total.

The collection is being sold as a single lot on 18 October at an auction house in Etwall, Derbyshire. The BBC reports that the collection includes trading cards, video games, manga, films, posters, toys, action figures, books, plush, and even toilet paper. The seller is parting with her Pokémon collection for “financial reasons”. It could certainly be a life-changing sum to take home.

The collection includes three German first edition sealed base card set packs and a signed Japanese Mew purse plush. The collection was previously awarded a Guinness World Record certificate certifying it as the largest Pokémon collection. Feeling traces of envy? Same.
