Another Halo Game Could Be On The Way, According To Job Listing

Halo Infinite might not be the only Halo game in development, if a new job listing is to be believed. A new post on LinkedIn seems to show that Halo studio 343 Industries is hiring a Lead Producer "to help develop a new project in the Halo universe."

If you're like me, your first thought will likely be that this is obviously just 343 hiring someone to come work on Halo Infinite. It is worth noting, however, that previous job listings posted by the studio pertaining to Infinite specifically mention the game by name, rather than describing it as a "new project in the Halo universe."

After all, we know what Halo Infinite is at this point... So it doesn't really make sense for a job listing to be vague about the nature of a game. That is, unless it's a currently-unannounced Halo project? Unfortunately, between work on Halo Infinite and bringing the Master Chief Collection to PC, I'd imagine that 343 has more than enough on its plate as far as Halo goes.

It's not impossible that another Halo title could be in development then, but there's plenty of evidence to the contrary. For example, it's also worth noting that Halo Infinite did actually lose a Lead Producer recently. Just a few weeks ago, it was announced that Mary Olsen had departed 343 and her role as Lead Producer on the upcoming Halo title to take on the role of Head of Production at Midwinter Entertainment.

As much as I'd love to say for certain that 343 is definitely working on another Halo game in conjunction with Infinite then, the most likely scenario is that the studio is simply looking for a new Lead Producer to replace Olsen on the game we already know about. It still seems odd to me that the listing doesn't specifically mention Infinite, though.

For now, I'd say that we need to temper our expectations and remain realistic. The smart money is very much on the job listing simply referring to Halo Infinite. There's nothing wrong with dreaming a little dream though, so don't entirely rule out the possibility of multiple Halo games being in development.

As Microsoft announced during E3 2019, Halo Infinite will be a major launch title for the Xbox Scarlett when it releases during the Holiday 2020 period. Don't worry though, it's still coming to Xbox One too, and the studio previously reassured fans that the game will look beautiful on whichever console you choose to play it on.
