That's one handsome console.

With the next generation of consoles getting nearer, I find myself daydreaming more and more about what kind of limited-edition PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X models we're going to get.

A number of passionate fans have already been hard at work envisioning such consoles, with a particular focus on the PlayStation 5. We've already seen models inspired by Spider-Man: Miles Morales, God Of War, and Horizon Forbidden West... not to mention a gorgeous all-black design that I would be more than happy to throw all my money at.

But what of the Xbox Series X? What would a limited-edition next-gen Microsoft console even look like? The fairly basic "mini fridge" design certainly gives custom editions a lot more space and freedom to be creative, so I'm hopeful we'll get some seriously wild models over the next few years. I'm especially hopeful that CD Projekt Red and Microsoft pay attention to this gorgeous Witcher-inspired design from pixelstag, because I'd buy it in an instant.

I've seen a lot of fan-made custom console designs over the last couple of months, and I can quite confidently say that this is one of the best. It's so incredibly simple, yet simultaneously beautiful. I can't take my eyes off of it. The stone-like texture of the console manages to make the Xbox Series X look like some kind of mysterious obelisk, rather than a dull grey box that plays video games.

The different signs etched down one side of the machine only enhances the console's enigma. And the whole thing is topped off with a striking red vent at the top, and the three iconic scratch marks that adorn the logo of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. This is what every limited-edition console should be: subtle and elegant, while still unmistakably inspired by that one game or franchise.

Microsoft hasn't said an awful lot about what we can expect from limited-edition Xbox Series X consoles, but if what we get look as half as good as what pixelstag managed to assemble? We're in for a real treat.
